Red Angus Program
Red Angus was added to the herd in 2000 in response to customers' request to purchase a second breed at Judd Ranch that would compliment their Gelbvieh herds. Red Angus cattle excel in carcass quality, and they have excellent maternal characteristics and moderate size. Red Angus also have great disposition and feeding characteristics. The Red Angus offering at our bull sale is relatively small, but we still put a lot of thought and consideration into this program. Approximately 10 Red Angus bulls and 220 Gelbvieh and Balancer bulls sell each year in the sale.

The sires in the Red Angus program include BFCK Cherokee Canyon 4912, Glacier Logan 210, Basin Hobo 79E, Buffalo Creek Dynamics 3820, HXC Conquest 4405P, LCC Gravity B252L, and LACY Line Backer 123H.
Many of our customers cross their Gelbvieh cattle with Red Angus to take advantage of heterosis. We think the calves resulting from a Gelbvieh, Red Angus cross are exceptional.
A successful cross breeding program requires planning, so please contact us to discuss your operation and options that will work for you.
